When Heather Kaspar first heard about human trafficking, she knew she had to get involved.
“I was just appalled. It was just so surprising to me, and I felt like I needed to do something. I thought about my little kids and how vulnerable children are and how I would hate that to happen to my own children.”
For years, Heather’s monthly gifts through The LUV Collective (TLC) have transformed the lives of vulnerable children and women in Sudan and South Sudan. However, she has also been impacted.
“It has just really opened my eyes to the needs in the world and that there is something we can do about it. It’s not a hopeless situation; there’s a lot of hope, and everyone can do their part. God just started pointing out all the places in scripture that He talks about taking care of the orphans, widows, oppressed, and the poor. And how these are commands God has given us, and it’s so easy not to do anything. This is just one way that we can give back from the abundance that God has given us. He tells us that when we have been given much, much is expected of us.”
Not only is Heather’s life being changed, but her generosity is inspiring her 11-year-old son, Levi. Sitting around the dinner table, Heather was trying to figure out a way to raise money to fight human trafficking in her local community and in warzones. Levi came up with the idea of Taco Soup Tuesday — an evening of delicious food to make the world better for your family and those who are most vulnerable.
Heather and Levi will be selling Taco Soup on Tuesday, March 15th to support Lift Up the Vulnerable and a local organization, Into the Light. If you are in the Arkansas Mountain Home area, reach out to us and we’ll help you get connected to this delicious initiative. If you are not in the area feel free to give directly to LUV in honor of Taco Soup Tuesday.
If you are trying to figure out ways to support LUV, Levi shares that you should think about something you like and use that as a starting point for your idea! Feel free to contact us at LUV to brainstorm ideas.
TLC donors like Heather offer the critical support LUV needs to transform warzones month after month. If you are passionate about protecting the most vulnerable children and women, join The LUV Collective community.
