A few days ago, I began introducing you to our growing stateside team. It’s an honor to share more good news about Lift Up the Vulnerable’s recent expansion and hire of Tara Herget as our Finance and Administrative Officer.

I invited Tara to share more with you about why she felt inspired and excited to serve with this ministry.

Tara writes,

My passion for helping others began at a young age; I always knew that my life would take me in the direction of helping to positively impact the lives of others. Some of the most fulfilling moments of my life have been while working to help others. I have a great desire to learn as much as I can and to use that knowledge to be a positive force in the world.

One of the principles I firmly believe in is that each person has a special place in the world and has a specific purpose. Therefore, for us to move forward in trying to end the horrors in the world and build humanity, it takes each of us coming together in compassion and love.

While I have worked in various fields assisting people through difficult or trying situations, none of them gave me a feeling of really making a difference until I became a part of the LUV team. I am so honored and thankful to be a part of a team that genuinely makes invaluable strides in empowering children and women at risk of experiencing some of the most despicable acts of horror.

I finally feel like I am doing what I am meant to do and could not be more proud, excited, and humbled to begin this journey. I now know that I have found my purpose and cannot wait to help empower children and women to become changemakers in their communities.

LUV envisions a world where vulnerable children and women are empowered and, through them, war-torn communities are transformed. In these uncertain times, our work now is more critical than ever. Your prayers and financial partnership will help us save lives.
