What Conflict Has to Do with Trafficking and How We Break the Cycle

In conflict zones like Sudan and South Sudan, war and instability fuel the rise of human trafficking. At Lift Up the Vulnerable (LUV), we’ve seen how violence fractures families, disrupts education, and creates the perfect conditions for traffickers to exploit the most vulnerable — especially children. But there’s hope. Through locally-led efforts focused on protection, education, and leadership development, LUV interrupts this cycle and empowers communities to build a safer, more resilient future. Learn how we’re transforming lives—and how you can help.

Celebrating 20 Years of Empowerment and Transformation in Warzones

This January, Lift Up the Vulnerable celebrates a monumental milestone — our 20th anniversary. Two decades of empowering and protecting children and women in some of the world’s most devastated warzones. What began in 2005 with a small, dedicated team from Alabama and South Sudan, united by a shared vision to help the most vulnerable children, has blossomed into a global network of over 500 leaders across the US, Kenya, Sudan, and South Sudan.
